Akyikatchy Dzhamilia Dzhamanbaeva visited a pre-trial detention center in the city of Jalal-Abad

Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic Dzhamilia Dzhamanbaeva visited the pre-trial detention center for minors and women in the city of Jalal-Abad.

The Ombudsman got acquainted with the conditions of detention of prisoners. Total in this the pre-trial detention center has 67 places of detention. During a visit in a closed.

There were 37 arrestees in the facility. Of these, 23 are women, 14 are teenagers (three girls).

The Ombudsman selectively entered the cells and spoke with prisoners

In one cell, a woman asked to speak to her without being present pre-trial detention center employees. She complained about the court's decision to impose a measure on her suppression - being in a pre-trial detention center.

In another cell there is a 32-year-old prisoner who is being held with a small child. as a child, she complained that her daughter had intracranial pressure. In the moment visit by the Ombudsman, the girl, who was almost two years old, was sleeping in cradle.

According to the pre-trial detention center staff, a woman with a child is provided

the opportunity to walk with the child in a walking chamber.

According to the relevant government agencies, the prisoner’s 5-year-old son was handed over in the care of the woman's sister.

By decision of the Nooken District Court, the woman was taken into custody in a pre-trial detention center for a period of two months. She appealed to the Ombudsman with a request to protect her rights and the child.

There was also a woman in another cell, she was taken into custody for a debt in the amount of 31 thousand 500 soms. According to the prosecutor's office, she has already paid off this debt .
