Employees of the Ombudsman's Institutution regularly monitor the conditions of detainees in closed institutions, including Detention Center-1.

On September 8th, the employees of the Institutution visited Detention Center-1 and familiarized themselves with the conditions of the detainees.

The employees of Detention Center-1 showed the cells where Ravshan Zheenbekov, Azimbek Beknazarov, Zhenish Moldokmatov, and Kubanychbek Kadyrov were being held. At the time of the visit by the employees of the Ombudsman's Institutution, the detainees were not present in their cells as they had been taken to court.

In Zheenbekov's cell, there is a refrigerator, a television, an electric stove for heating food, and an oven.

The cell is located on the first floor, and upon initial inspection, there were no smells of dampness or mold. The cell has undergone cosmetic repairs. There are traces of salt on the outer wall, but the inner surfaces are dry.

This particular cell houses 5 detainees, which is in accordance with the norms prescribed by national legislation. The survey revealed that all the detainees had no previous criminal records.

According to the employees of Detention Center-1, Ravshan Zheenbekov was recently transferred to a cell on the first floor due to ongoing repairs on the second floor.

The employees of the Ombudsman's Institutution also inspected other cells.

During the monitoring of Zhenish Moldokmatov's and Kubanychbek Kadyrov's cells, no major violations of the conditions of detention were found.

However, the cell where Azimbek Beknazarov is being held is in a state of disrepair.

Based on the results of the monitoring, the Ombudsman's Institutution insists on relocating the detainees from the first-floor cells, which are in a state of disrepair.

Earlier, on August 25-26, the employees of the Ombudsman's Institutution, as well as the Deputy Ombudsman A. Nazaraliev, participated in the monitoring of Detention Center-1 together with a parliamentary commission chaired by deputies Zhogorku Kenesh G. Kozhokulova and Sh. Atazov
